WebbVMs are usually identified by ultrasound (slow-flow vs high-flow), but plain radiography can identify phleboliths, round calcifications pathognomonic of slow-flow VMs caused by intravascular thrombosis. 2 MRI is indicated for larger, deeper or symptomatic malformations to define the extent and plan treatment. 3 4

They look like small white spots or calcifications. They are important to distinguish from other calcifications in the pelvis such as passing kidneys stones. WebbMRI. Coronal T1.
